1. Statutory Mandate & Scope
The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) is a statutory regulatory body established under the PNMC Act 1973. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the PNMC Online Web Portal and the PNMC Mobile Application. It outlines how we collect, process, and secure the personal and professional data required for licensing and registration of nursing and midwifery professionals in Pakistan.
2. Information Collection
To fulfill our legal mandate, we collect the following data through both our web and mobile platforms:
A. Personal & Identity Data
- Full Name & Family Details: Name, Father/Husband’s name, and relationship status.
- National Identity Card (NIC): Collected as a mandatory unique identifier.
- Contact Details: Current and Permanent address, mobile numbers and email address for secure authentication and transaction tracking.
B. Professional & Academic Records
- Educational Data: Degrees, diplomas, and certifications.
- Employment Data: Professional history, including current designation and sector (Government/Private/NGO).
C. Digital Document Submissions (PDF, Word, & Images)
Users must upload scanned copies of legal and academic documents (e.g., NIC, Domicile, Degrees, and Diplomas). We support and store files in PDF, Word (.doc/.docx), and Image formats on secure, authorized government servers.
D. Fee Calculation & Financial Reporting
- Calculation: The platforms calculate registration, renewal, and late fees based on statutory schedules.
- Payment Records: While the platforms generate a payment ID/Challan, no actual bank/credit card transactions occur within the mobile app or web portal. Users must pay via external bank channels or mobile wallets. PNMC does not collect or store your banking credentials.
3. Data Retention & Regulatory Deletion Policy
Legal Retention Mandate: In accordance with the PNMC Act 1973 (as amended) PNMC is required to maintain a permanent National Register of Nurses, Midwifery and associated professions.
- Non-Deletable Data: Once professional records or documents are submitted, they become part of the official government record for public safety and regulatory verification. This data cannot be deleted or modified by the user.
- Account Deactivation: Users may request to deactivate their digital login credentials for the portal or app; however, the underlying professional registration data remains in the Council’s database as required by law.
4. Data Security & Minimization
- Encryption: All data, including file uploads, is transmitted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS) encryption.
- Storage: Data is stored in an encrypted state on high-security servers with access limited to authorized PNMC officials.
- Minimization: We only collect data points strictly necessary for identity verification and professional registration under Pakistani law.
- No Marketing: PNMC does not use your data for marketing, advertising, or third-party tracking.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
PNMC does not sell or trade user data. Information is only shared with:
- Government Departments: For official healthcare workforce planning.
- Law Enforcement: When required by a valid legal order under the laws of Pakistan.
6. User Rights & Access
Users may access their profiles via the web or mobile app to view their current status. Any errors in official records must be addressed via a “Correction Request” submitted to the PNMC Registrar’s office.
